Depart from Cancun or Riviera Maya and begin your journey with a visit to Ek Balam, one of the Yucatán Peninsula’s most fascinating archaeological sites. After exploring the ruins, cool off with a refreshing swim in one of the region’s beautiful cenotes.
Continue to Valladolid, one of Yucatán’s most charming colonial cities. Enjoy a city tour through its colourful streets, historic centre, and traditional architecture, including the impressive San Servacio Church overlooking the main square. Take time to experience the relaxed atmosphere of this enchanting city before spending the night in Valladolid.
This morning, continue to Chichen Itza, one of the Seven New Wonders of the World and one of the most remarkable archaeological sites of the Mayan civilization. Explore the monumental Pyramid of Kukulkan, the Great Ball Court, the Observatory, and the Temple of the Warriors while learning about the fascinating history, astronomy, and traditions of this ancient city.
After visiting Chichen Itza, continue to a nearby cenote, one of the Yucatán Peninsula’s characteristic natural wonders. These freshwater sinkholes were considered sacred by the ancient Maya and offer the perfect opportunity for a refreshing swim surrounded by the region’s lush landscape.
In the afternoon, continue to Merida, the elegant capital of Yucatán. Known for its beautiful colonial architecture, lively plazas, and rich blend of Mayan and Spanish heritage, Merida is the perfect place to experience the cultural heart of the peninsula.
Leave Merida in the morning for Uxmal, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved examples of Puuc-style Mayan architecture. Explore the impressive Pyramid of the Magician, the Governor’s Palace, the Nunnery Quadrangle, and the Great Pyramid while discovering the history and architectural sophistication of this ancient city.
Continue towards Celestun, a peaceful coastal town famous for its spectacular nature reserve and extraordinary birdlife. Take a boat through the Celestun Biosphere Reserve, where mangroves, wetlands, and waterways provide a sanctuary for hundreds of bird species. Depending on the season, the reserve is particularly famous for its enormous colonies of pink flamingos, creating one of the most memorable natural experiences in Yucatán.
After exploring Celestun, return to Merida for the evening.
Depart from Merida and continue your journey towards the Riviera Maya, with two very different experiences along the way. First, visit Sfer Ik, an extraordinary contemporary art and architecture space immersed in the jungle. Created as a dialogue between art, nature, and the surrounding Mayan landscape, its organic architecture and immersive exhibitions offer a unique cultural experience unlike a traditional museum.
Continue to the Gran Cenote, one of the Riviera Maya’s most spectacular natural cenotes. Surrounded by lush vegetation and crystal-clear freshwater, it is an ideal place to swim, snorkel, or simply admire the extraordinary natural formations beneath the surface.
