Day 1: Arrival to Mexico City

Arrival to Mexico City where our staff will be waiting to take you to the comfort of your hotel.

Day 2: Mexico City Tour – Teotihuacan – National Museum of Anthropology

Mexico City is an impressive metropolis showcasing Mexico’s unique combination of Indians, Mestizos, Creoles, and Europeans. The city is full of mixed emotions, splendid colors, and spicy tastes. You will see “The Zocalo,” the main national square, the ruins of the ancient Aztec city Tenochtitlan, and the National Palace. Admire murals by Diego Rivera, which depict Mexico’s pre-Columbian history, colonial period, and Revolution. Visit the National Museum of Anthropology in Chapultepec Park to see archaeological treasures from the Toltec, Mexica, Aztec, Zapotec, Mixtec, Olmec, and Maya civilizations, including the immense Aztec Calendar Stone. Then, explore Teotihuacan, Mexico’s largest archaeological site, located about 80 km from Mexico City. Once the sixth largest city in the world in 400 A.D., Teotihuacan was mysteriously abandoned 300 years later. Visit the Jaguar Palace, Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, and the Avenue of the Dead, flanked by temples and palaces. Return to your hotel.

Day 3: Xochimilco – House-Museum of Frida Kahlo – House-Museum of Leon Trotsky

Explore Xochimilco, a picturesque area in southern Mexico City known for its floating islands, or Chinampas, created by the Aztecs. Enjoy a boat ride through the canals, taste traditional food, and experience the sounds of Mariachis and Marimba musicians. Visit the House-Museum of Frida Kahlo, known for her vibrant yet tragic artwork. The museum, once a cultural center, showcases Frida’s life, her marriage to Diego Rivera, and her personal collections. Next, visit the House-Museum of Leon Trotsky, where he and his wife, Natalia Sedova, spent the last two years of his life. See personal items, letters, and works of this legendary revolutionary. Return to the hotel.

Day 4: Mexico City – Queretaro – Morelia

Travel from Mexico City to Queretaro for a sightseeing tour of this UNESCO-protected city, crucial to Mexican Independence. Queretaro survived wars, epidemics, and occupations and witnessed the triumph of independence. It is a modern center of culture and arts. Continue to Morelia and check into your hotel.

Day 5: Morelia – Guadalajara

Visit Morelia, a city in Michoacan known for its colonial architecture and role in the battle for independence. Birthplace of national heroes such as Jose Maria Morelos and Agustin de Iturbide, Morelia was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1991. Transfer to Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco, and check into your hotel.

Day 6: Guadalajara – Tlaquepaque – Tequila – Puerto Vallarta

Guadalajara, the heart of Jalisco, is renowned as the birthplace of Tequila, Mariachis, and Charros. It is one of Mexico’s most important cultural and tourist centers. Known as “La Perla Tapatia,” “La Perla de Occidente,” and “La Ciudad de las Rosas,” it offers excellent national cuisine and traditions. Visit a tequila factory, “Casa Herradura,” an old hacienda with traditions dating back to pre-Hispanic times. Learn about the history of tequila and the cultivation of blue agave. Explore the charming streets of Tequila, the town that gave its name to the drink. Transfer to the Pacific Coast and arrive in Puerto Vallarta to check into your hotel.
